On January 28, 2006 Janek Mäggi was elected President of the Estonian Draughts Association by the general assembly for the fourth 2-year term.
On January 28, 2006 Janek Mäggi was elected President of the Estonian Draughts Association by the general assembly for the fourth 2-year term. Andres Onemar and Lauri Leppik were elected as Vice Presidents.
“I am grateful for the trust,” says President of Estonian Draughts Association Janek Mäggi.
This year’s highlight will be the European Draughts Junior Championship, which will be organized by us in Estonia. The goal of the new board of the Estonian Draughts Association is to expand the popularity of draughts in Estonia and to organize international tournaments in order to give possibilities to Estonian players to master their skills in draughts.
Estonian Draughts Association has 11 member clubs. Several variants of draughts are played in Estonia, most popular are Russian draughts and international draughts. There are over 1000 active draughts players in Estonia.
Estonian Draughts Association (www.kabeliit.ee) was established in 1990. Since 1991 it is member of World Draughts Federation (FMJD). Estonian Draughts Association is also member of European Draughts Confederation (EDC) and Estonian Olympic Committee.
