Põim graduated from the University of Tartu with a degree in Cultural Science and has worked as both an events organiser in the field of culture and as a teacher. Prior to joining Powerhouse she served as the head of communications for Valga Municipal Government, where she was responsible for devising an information campaign following major municipal reforms and for steering it through its critical stages. She works well under pressure and, as a seasoned theatre critic, can see through any performance she happens to witness. A talented writer with a broad outlook, she has co-authored works and published opinion pieces and reviews in the Postimees, Tartu Postimees, Lõuna-Eesti Postimees, Äripäev, Eesti Ekspress, Maaleht and Müürileht newspapers, Vikerkaar magazine and the opinion portal of the Estonian national broadcaster ERR.
Outside of work, Põim spends her time in Karula in Valga County, where she is raising her children and slowly but steadily restoring the historical Savilööv Farm.
